Q. How do I send my demo?

Q. What happens when I send my demo?

​

A. First, your demo will be screened according to its music genre to determine which one of WMAs producers will listen to it. ​
 

B. WMA Team will listen carefully and judge your demo according to an industry standard point system. 

​

C. Finally, we will inform you whether or not your demo has been selected to be shopped for placement opportunities, record deals, distribution deals, publishing deals, and/or production deals.

Q. What kind of deal will I get when my demo is selected?

A.  When your demo is selected you will receive either a record deal, distribution deal, publishing deals, and/or a production deal.

Q. Why is there a fee to submit my demo?

A. If we had no submission fee, some artists would send too many songs. Eventually, that would overload the entire system. 

​

Q. Can I send my demo in Person?  

A. No. We wish to keep the location of our Record Label private in order to avoid massive crowds and maintain a peaceful working environment. Please note that the location of our private recording studio is not the same location as our record label.

Q. How long will it take for me to get some feedback for demo?  

A. It may take approximately seven business days to receive a response to your demo submission.

Q. Can I send my demo in two separate Emails if they don't fit in one?

A. Yes.  Be sure to include your PayPal receipt number in each email.

Q. Can I call WMA and sing or rap over the phone or go in person?

A. Absolutely Not. Doing so will not increase your chances of getting signed.

Q. Can I use another artist's song or music background in my demo?  

A.  Yes, you can use another artist's song as long as you give them credit in the email. 

Q. When an artist submits a demo for evaluation, does the contents of that demo become property of WMA upon submission? Will you keep that demo and use it for other things? Can an artist be assured that their material won't be plagiarized?

A. When an artist submits a demo to WMA, he or she maintains complete ownership of that demo and its contents at all times.  All demos that are not selected for further review are automatically deleted from our system (your demo will not be used for other things). When in doubt, have all works copywriten by the Library of Congress.   

Q. For one song, are the mp3 file and its lyrics considered two demos? Does it mean that the song itself is worth one song payment while the lyrics attached as a document another payment? Or are they together considered one song payment as a whole? 

A. The song and its lyrics are considered one song payment as long as they are included together in the same demo submission.

Q. Do you have to live in America / United States? 

A.  No, you do not have to live in America / United States to submit a demo.

Q. What type or style of music do you mainly promote?  

A.  WMA is looking for new artists from all genres of music.
Pop, RnB, Rap, Rock, Country, Hip Hop and international genres.

Q. Is there an age limit to submit a demo?  

A. Must be 9 or older to enter. 

Under 18 must get permission from a legal guardian before submitting a demo .

Q. Do I have to send in an original song? 

A.  No. But for the official release we need the rights !

Q. Do I need a press kit?  

A. No, You may include a brief bio and a recent picture along with your demo. 

Q. How many songs can I submit?  

A. You may submit up to five songs at a time. 

Q. Are you also signing writers?   

A. Yes, You may submit song lyrics demo as email attachments.

Q. Are you also signing beat writers? 

A. Yes, You may submit beats demo as Mp3 email attachments.

Q. Do I need a PayPal account?   

A. No, You may choose the pay by credit card or debit card option.

​

Q. What if I don't have this currency?

A. PayPal lets you send and receive money in any of these currencies (U.S. Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Euros, Pounds Sterling, and Yen) without having to open a currency balance. You do not need to have a PayPal account to use PayPal.

Customers will see the current exchange rate and the equivalent amount in their Primary Currency on the Payment Details page.

Q.  Does WMA work with companies other than record labels? 

A.  Yes. We also work with top Music Publishers, Independent Labels, Producers, Managers, Film and TV Music Supervisors, and Instrumental Music Libraries on a very regular basis. WMA has been very successful placing music in films and TV shows.

Q.  Does WMA get listings for artists, bands, songwriters, and composers? 

A. Yes. We work hard to make sure the listings are well-balanced. Something for everybody, whether you're an artist, band, songwriter, or instrumental composer.
